Currently under construction, this collaboration between Hillam Architects and Nineteen 12, townhouse development provides a lot of living space over a small block.
This projects roof structure is complex, requiring a collective effort from N12, architect and engineer. The result is an ascetically pleasing façade with a hidden practical component.
Unit B reflects a u shape design encompassing the outdoor pool. This design brings indoor and outdoor living together.
A standout construction feature is the guest bedroom which cantilevers over the pool area. This provides stellar views to the guest and practical shade for the pool. At pool level the view is unbroken, with N12 and the engineer working together to find a structural solution which didn’t intrude on views.
The 4 by 2 plus powder has the living kitchen on the first floor with stacking doors opening out onto a large additional outdoor living kitchen area overlooking the pool.
Unit A follows a more traditional set up with kitchen living on the ground floor and sleeping chambers upstairs.
The living/dining/kitchen surrounds a large courtyard which is accessible through two sections of stacking doors which open bringing the outside in. With four generous sized bedrooms, three-bathroom, plus a powder room, this home squeezes a lot in a small block without compromising space.
